Dr. Deepika Bhargava (who is lovingly known by staff and patients as Dr. B) is a board-certified Adult and Geriatric Psychiatrist as well as the medical director of Exult Healthcare.
Dr. B did her externship at St. Elizabeth Hospital, in Washington, D. C. She went on to do her residency in Psychiatry at Wright State University in Ohio. Finally, Dr. B did her fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at UT Southwest.
Dr. B has held many leadership positions and served as Medical Director at Haven Behavioral Hospital, Allegiance Hospital (in Tyler and Keller, TX). She currently is a member of American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry and Obesity Medicine Association. Doctor B has been named one of D-magazine’s best doctors of DFW in 2018.
Exult Healthcare was conceptualized when Dr. B wanted to combine her passion for mental health and addiction.
During her free time, Dr. B enjoys time with her husband and their three children.
She loves to cook and spend time with her two dogs, Sugar and Oreo.
Dr. Sumbul Islam is a board-certified Internal Medicine specialist in Sherman, Texas. She completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Pakistan International College. She then went onto medical school at Rawalpindi Medical College, graduated in 1994, and has over 24 years of diverse experience since then, especially in Internal Medicine. She is affiliated with many hospitals including Heartland Regional Medical Center and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ. Dr. Sumbul Islam also cooperates with other doctors and physicians in medical groups including Sherman Md. Provider, Inc. Dr. Islam joins the Empower 2 Wellness team as a medical director.

Nic Pitts has over 10 years of health and wellness experience in creating personalized and innovative programs based on scientific research. He specializes in stress management, nutrition counseling, weight loss, metabolic conditioning, corrective exercise, sports performance, lean muscle building, joint replacement rehabilitation, functional movement patterns, emotional wellbeing, and overall life enrichment.
He has a passion for this ever-changing field of study and how research reveals new ways our bodies respond to varying stimuli. He believes that “[t]he human body is an amazing machine that is capable of accomplishing incredible things [and] learning how to properly manufacture desired results in order to enrich someone’s life is as lucrative as it gets.”

Director of Therapy Services, Eating Disorder Specialist
Dr. Cynthia D’Sauza is a licensed marriage and family therapist and received her Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy at Texas Tech University. Her clinical and research specialization is in eating disorder and addiction treatment and has worked extensively in the field. Her research has included addiction recovery in emerging adults, factors influencing long term recovery, spirituality in long term recovery, treatment of binge eating disorder and food addiction.
Dr. D’Sauza believes that change comes from understanding what drives our behavior and then making a conscious effort to change what doesn’t work for us anymore. Her greatest joy is working with people to find solutions to their problems so that they can go on the live their life to the fullest.
She is located in both McKinney and Sherman offices.
